Building God’s Church

The Church that Jesus is expecting is not static but dynamic; to expand, grow and remain active.

Jesus said to Peter, “you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it” [Matthew 16:18].

The rock on which Jesus would build his church has been identified as (1) Jesus himself [his work of salvation by dying for us on the cross]. (2) Peter [the first great leader in the church at Jerusalem; (3) the confession of faith that Peter gave and that all subsequent true believers would give.

As the body of Christ, we are reminded that we are the church [body of believers] built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets; not modern ideas but rather on the spiritual heritage given to us by the early apostles and prophets of the Christian church with Jesus Christ as the cornerstone. All believers are joined together in this church by faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, the same faith that Peter expressed and for people to see that God is love and that Christ is Lord as we live in harmony with each other and in accordance with what God says in his Word.

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (John10:10)

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Mathew 28:19-20).

He said to them, “Go ye into the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark16:15)

And great multitudes were gathered together unto him……. And he spake many things unto them in parables (Matthew 13:2,3)

CHURCH PLANTING

God can do great things and we give thanks for the construction of this second church building in the village of Patavupakalli, Krishna district. It is the 4th branch under the Fullness of Life Ministries and seats up to 300 people.

It is encouraging to see villagers attending the worship service while work is still underway.

……And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

(Matthew 16:18)

VILLAGE PASTORS’ TRAINING

2017-2018 we saw an increase in pastors' training from 25 to 50 attending. It was two years since Monica Forrester, Dip C (Inst. N.H.) guided and counselled Pastor Mani Kumar. When asked if she would assist him with Pastors’ training, this was a great challenge for her as Monica had never been to Bible College; she holds a Diploma in Counselling and volunteers free counselling and mentoring online to people in the UK and other parts of the world; much of which is very Spirit-led. Keeping the lessons simple in ways the pastors could easily understand, each day Pastor Mani and Monica, known as our ‘Spiritual Mother’ communicated and worked closely to prepare the lessons for translation from English to Telegu.

Most memorable was the topic "Do not be like the church of Ephesus (Revelations 2:1-7) In that the Bible exemplifies the teachings of Jesus Christ and pastors should live in ways that reflect this and to bear fruit not only in the churches but also in their communities. Having the facility to conduct this training by Skype video was a great blessing.

We congratulate those 50 pastors who received their Certificate of Completion and glorify God for making this possible and for the commitment of the pastors who attended and are now pastoring in villages.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

(Matthew 28:19)

SEED TIME AND HARVESTING THE RICE CROP

“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” (Genesis 8:22)

Each year Pastor Mani’s family prepare the paddy-field for the much-needed rice crop; sufficient to feed the children as well as his family, and those that are needy. Late at night his father [top left] is seen working into the early hours of the morning, joined by others during the day to get the planting underway.

Although only a small holding, there are still opportunities for people within the community to earn a few rupees doing this work.

Blessed by excellent weather, Pastor Mani takes time out with his mother before quickly returning to his work reaping and gathering in the harvest.

It is hoped that this work can expand to employ more workers. We know that God is able to do all things. By giving to the Ministry, no matter how small, we will be able to accomplish this.
